Very brief history
World Creativity and Innovation Week began in Toronto, Canada in 2001. The first celebrations took place in 2002 in the Netherlands, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Chicago, Bangkok, Hamiliton and Toronto, Ontario. Since then the celebration has spread to 40+ countries in over 100 businesses, schools, communities, associations and households and it continues to grow. For further information see our website
World Creativity and Innovation Week began as a day, April 21, and was expanded to a week in years that followed, starting on Leonardo da Vinci's birthday - April 15.
The people who started World Creativity and Innovation Week are Canadian creativity professionals: Marci Segal, John Sedgwick, Paul Rousseau and Jacynthe Bedard.
